Mozambique's New Conformity Assessment Programme (CAP)

In a significant development, Intertek Government and Trade Services have partnered with Mozambique's Instituto Nacional de NormalizaĆ§Ć£o e Qualidade (INNOQ) to enforce rigorous quality standards for imported products resulting in the so called CAP. Mozambique's Conformity Assessment Programme (CAP) will be starting November 1st, 2023.

Under this program, Intertek, appointed by INNOQ, will exclusively issue Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) for regulated products imported into Mozambique from all supplying countries. The National Inspectorate of Economic Activities (INAE) will oversee this process, ensuring products are not counterfeit, meet international standards, and pose no risks to consumers or the environment.

Starting November 1st, INAE will monitor high-risk products for compliance, making it crucial for exporters to verify their products with Intertek before shipping to Mozambique. Detailed information regarding this program can be found on INNOQ's official communication and Intertek's website.

Pincvision urges all exporters engaged in trade with Mozambique to familiarize themselves with these new regulations. Do you need help with this? Our specialists are ready do assist you!
