UPDATE - Customs Regulation Amendment Turkey

As of September 2, 2020, it is mandatory to mention the EU Member State in box 3 (origin) of the Certificate of Origin (CO).

Just mentioning the European Union in this box is no longer sufficient. Moreover these documents will not be accepted by customs in Turkey anymore.

Please pay attention! This also means that the Member State must be mentioned on the proof of origin for applying for the CO. Many supplier declarations often only state the European Union as the origin. Please check this and if necessary, have the supplier's declaration adjusted by your supplier.

UPDATE October 20, 2020 - We have been informed by the Chamber of Commerce that Turkey has reversed a very large part of the regulations with regard to mentioning the Member State in box 3. For most products it is again allowed to mention EU as country of origin. However, there is no list available of the products to which the regulations still apply. For this reason we advise you to mention the EU Member State in order to avoid possible problems at the border in Turkey.
